When I started, I adopted a unique strategy.  Instead of viewing my sexuality as a commodity to be bought and sold, I would view myself as the owner of a set of capital assets.  I would operate as a capitalist, not a laborer.  

As the owner of capital, I would set the terms and expectations for each and every interaction with that capital.
